Each year we eagerly await the kick-off to the conference season with Arena’s Outsourcing in Clinical Trials (OCT) West Coast event. The conference brings together biotech and pharmaceutical clinical operations, outsourcing and procurement management, while showcasing innovations and technological advancements in the clinical trial space.

This year was no exception and although the event was virtual, OCT West Coast managed to gather over 800 clinical trial professionals, looking to meet their peers and share insights into how we can conduct clinical trials of the future.

Encapsia attended, looking to network with other industry accelerators and discuss how technical innovation can fundamentally address the current challenges in the industry. A big topic of discussion was decentralized trials with the industry continuing to question how to effectively manage decentralized trials.

With challenges like coping with large amounts of disparate data from apps and wearables, adopting remote monitoring, keeping data quality, whilst maintaining regulatory acceptance with new virtual technologies, it’s no wonder the industry has been slow to adopt the promise of DCT. However, the pandemic has forced a shift in perspective and today’s focus is firmly on how to move to DCT or how to design hybrid protocols that support trial continuity and a more patient-centric approach.

Through discussions at OCT West Coast, it was apparent that most sponsors come up against barriers in adopting DCT and need an innovative, modern platform that paves the way to more efficient and future-ready trial processes.

If you’re struggling with managing disparate data, trial complexity or just in trying to move to DCT/virtual trials, encapsia is the solution for you. In one platform you can collect (eSource and EDC), manage, visualize, and analyze your clinical data from the portfolio to patient level. The platform also includes a Home Visit app to support conducting patient visits remotely.

We offer powerful, out of the box data visualizations like patient profiles within our Insights app. See more on how encapsia can help your DCT trial here
